The coach throws on one knee with a football style throw in, which the batsmen have to defend by hitting back through the cones, with 6 balls each.
If the ball is left they may have another go. The batsmen rotate after 6 goes each.
With older players you can do this in a net with hard balls.
With younger players a giant tennis ball, volley ball or small football can be used for this exercise.
