Your internal body clock can have a dramatic impact on your sporting ability, according to recent research conducted by the University of Birmingham and reported by the BBC. In fact it has such an impact, that it could alter the chances of Olympic Gold!

By judging from the different times that people wake up during the day, it can determined when you're at the peak of your sporting performance. According to the statistics gathered, those who are early risers will have peaked by midday. Those who are balanced (times vary) will be just before 4pm and those who like to stay out and sleep in late, it'll be around before 8pm.

Your body clock controls everything, including how alert you are. Your players need to be refreshed and raring to go when you're about to play a match, not tired and lethargic! Encourage your players to get a good night's sleep before a fixture, and make sure they are fully alert when it comes to performing at the right time.
