my team does'nt turn up to practise and a team always loses our game what do u think
depends onthe age of the team. is it the parents who arent commited or the kids? or both. you need both on board generally to get them committed. try either talking to the team and parents or writing up contract for them all to read and sign (both parents and kids). or both. Let them know that your time is important to you and you do not wish to be wasting it on lesson plans and turning up to training and games when no one else is putting in the effort. is the team even wanting to be competitive? if its just for fun then let it be just that. but make sure your time is rewarded by their effort and that everyone is on the same page.
I would be addressing the team and telling them that training is compulsory. Our club has a general policy about training attendance and each coach can make their own specific rules. I have 9 in my team and everyone agreed that if you don`t train (for any reason) then you will get no more than half a game the following week. If another is missed, they sit out the whole game.
It is hard, however it is amazing when you follow through how much attendance increases. I`ve had a player from another team in the club sit on the bench or get court time over someone who was not committed to training. Believe me, you generally only have to do this once!
You are a volunteer who is giving your time to coach them, the least they can do is participate in training.
thankyou for the comments
