Drills for off season improvement?

Hi there, we are in South Africa, and the Netball season is pretty much over until next year. What Drills and practices can my daughter do on her own to keep her eye and mind sharp? She will be in the schools 1st team next year if all goes well. This year she was chosen to play for the provincial team so we want to build on this achievement. She plays GA or GS and still practises her goal shooting but what else? Please help

does your area have development clinics? her club do low season training? the thing that mainly drops in the down season is fitness. if she can keep that up, and keep working on footwork drills, then she will be streaks ahead of most players. we have a lot of our players that take up touch football in the off season to combat this and give them a break from netball. you can get burnt out if you dont give your body and mind a break from any one sport, so maybe find a sport that will keep her running, work on her footwork, and hand eye coordination, but isnt netball.

I agree with Lee-anne about her participating in another sport to give her a break from netball and keep up her skills in other areas.

I would still get her doing some netball stuff - reactions by throwing a ball against the wall both left and right-handed, jumping exercises (look up plyometrics online) and of course the shooting practice.
